Aaron Wolfe

Head of Year 7

When I came to Abu Dhabi in 2016, it was first time visiting the Middle East. I can certainly say now, that taking such a leap was the best decision for my life and I intend to stay in the UAE for many years.

My first job in the UAE included the management of peripatetic music lessons in many of the elite British schools in Abu Dhabi.

From 2020, I decided to return to the classroom as a Secondary School music teacher at GEMs CIA. Given my experience in leadership already in the Middle East, I went on to become Head of Year 7 the following year (2021-22).

I am currently working towards my NPQLBC (NPQ in Leading Behaviour & Culture), which I hope will help not only my own practice, but also improve the working environment and practice for all staff and learners at GEMs CIA.

I have a First Class Bachelor of Arts in Music, Masters in Music Composition and PGCE in Secondary Music.

  • Outside of school, I am an avid listener of music, I write my own music generally for brass bands, I enjoy attending performances at the Dubai Opera House and Manarat Saadiyat, and I like to explore new cultures. I’m also a passionate supporter of Newcastle United, and following England in cricket, rugby union and football.
