Richard Orme
Head of Year 6
I joined Gems Cambridge International School in September 2017. I graduated from London Metropolitan University with a Post Graduate in Primary Education in 2010. I then taught in two inner city school in London before deciding to relocate to the UAE in 2017. My first five years at Gems have been spent in the Key Stage one department as a Year 2 teacher, the last three of which were as Head of Year. I have now moved on to lower key stage two and am now Head of Year 4. I feel incredibly privileged to work in such a diverse and multi-cultural environment. This year in 4E there are twelve different nationalities in the class which is amazing. With classmates coming from all corners of the globe it will allow all of us to learn and develop even more understanding and tolerant attitudes towards each other and increase our curiosity about the world. In my free time I making the most of the outdoor lifestyle that the UAE provides by going swimming, cycling and when the climate allows camping in the desert with my family.
