Zaheera Asvat

I'm Zaheera Asvat, Director of KS3 (Pastoral) and an English teacher at GEMS Cambridge International School. Originally from sunny South Africa, I have been part of the GEMS CIA family for over 6 years and am passionate about supporting students both academically and personally.With a background in counselling and education, I am committed to promoting student wellbeing, building positive relationships, and creating an environment where every learner can thrive. I believe in maintaining high expectations while ensuring that students feel supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.Outside of school, I enjoy photography, travelling, and spending time with my family and friends. I love exploring new places, embracing new experiences, and creating lasting memories. Whether working with students, collaborating with colleagues, or connecting with families, I strive to bring positivity, enthusiasm, and have a genuine passion for helping others succeed.
