Michelle Brecken
Director of Sixth Form
I have been teaching for over 24 years and have been part of the GEMS Cambridge International School community for the past seven years. During this time, I have held a number of leadership roles, including Head of Art, Head of Year 11 and Assistant Headteacher. Alongside my current role as Assistant Headteacher, I am delighted to be taking on the position of Director of Sixth Form.
My philosophy is simple: every student deserves to feel supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their full potential. I believe that education is about more than academic success; it is about developing confident, resilient and independent young people who are well prepared for their future.
Many of the students who were in my Year 11 cohort will now be entering Year 13, making this role particularly special for me. I look forward to working closely with our Sixth Form students, parents and staff to help ensure that every student is able to achieve their ambitions and make the most of the opportunities available to them as they prepare for life beyond school.
